B1982 - Battery/Source Voltage High


CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
DTC B1982 will set if the battery/source voltage is outside of its normal range, approx 16 volts, for 2 seconds. This DTC may set if the vehicle has been placed on a battery charger for a long period of time.


TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
1. Connect scan tool.
2. Monitor battery voltage with scan tool.
3. If the displayed battery voltage is less then 16 volts replace the Air Conditioning Programmer (ACM).
4. If the displayed battery voltage is greater then 16 volts, repair the charging system.
^ If the charging system voltage is suspected to be the cause, check other modules for DTC 1982, i.e. Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
