B1983 Source/Battery Voltage Low - Module

Circuit Description:
Battery voltage is supplied to the PZM at Connector C1 terminal "B3." The PZM uses this power feed to perform all of its functions. While the PZM is "awake" the battery voltage at Connector C1 terminal "B3" is measured every 300 ms.
DTC Will Set When:
Battery voltage measured at Connector C1 terminal "B3" is less than 9 volts for four monitoring cycles, and DTC B1981 is not set.
Action Taken (By PZM):
When DTC B1983 is current Class 2 Loss of Serial Data DTCs will not be set.
DTC Will Clear When:
The Battery voltage is more than 9.5 volts in the next monitoring cycle.
Troubleshooting Hints
1. Using a scan tool monitor PZM battery voltage display.
^ If voltage displayed is 9.4 volts or more, and DTC B1982 is current, replace PZM.
^ If voltage displayed is 9 volts or less refer to Charging System Diagnosis. Charging System
