CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The ABS indicator is directly controlled by the EBTCM. The EBTCM supplies the ground to the circuit to keep the indicator OFF. When CKT 852 looses its ground at the EBTCM the ABS indicator comes ON.

CONDITION FOR SETTING THE DTC
EBTCM commands the ABS indicator lamp on and either an open, short to ground, or a short to voltage is detected.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
DTC is stored, ABS is not disabled and ABS indicator lamp remains OFF.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
Condition for DTC is no longer present and scan tool clear DTC function is used. 50 ignition cycles have passed with no DTCs detected.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
It is very important that a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors be performed. Failure to carefully and fully inspect wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction.

TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to step numbers on the diagnostic table.
3. Checks if the IPC has the ability to operate the ABS indicator lamp.
4. Checks for a short to ground in CKT 852.
6. Checks for a short to voltage in CKT 852.
7. Checks for an open in CKT 852.
