Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Warning Messages

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) sends Class 2 messages requesting the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to display messages on the Driver Information Center (DIC).

"STARTING DISABLED DUE TO THEFT SYSTEM REMOVE IGNITION KEY" is displayed whenever the ignition key has turned from "OFF" to "RUN" and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has not received a Class 2 fuel enable message from the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Following this message, several messages counting down the three minute system shutdown are displayed.

"THEFT SYSTEM PROBLEM CAR MAY NOT RESTART" is displayed when the engine is running and the PASS-Key II has a system error. The vehicle will continue to run, but if the error is still present when the vehicle is turned off, it may not restart.
