Oil Life Index Description

Oil Life Index is calculated by the PCM and sent to the IPC via the Class 2 serial data bus.

Oil life left is displayed as "### OIL LIFE LEFT", where ### represents the approximate percentage of useful oil life remaining. This figure is calculated by the PCM and sent to the IPC via Class 2 serial data bus. When oil life reaches 0% the "CHANGE ENGINE OIL" message will be displayed.

After an oil change, the index may be reset by displaying the oil life index and then pressing and holding the "RESET" button for approximately 5 seconds. When the value is reset, 100 will be displayed for the Oil Life Index.
