Garage Door Receiver Installation:




If the hand-held transmitter has not been successfully programmed to the Universal Garage Door Opener, contact HomeLink TM for technical assistance at 1-800-355-3515. Make sure you identify the brand name, model number and frequency of the hand-held transmitter (if possible) for the HomeLink TM operator.

No successful program Indication (indicator does not flash rapidly) and universal garage door opener does not activate receiver.

1. Verify that the system (garage door opener, etc.) operates properly with the original transmitter.
2. Verify that the red light on the Universal Garage Door Opener glows when any button is pushed. If the light glows, proceed to step Four.
3. If the light does not glow, refer to Lighting and Horns to verify power, ground and inadvertent power circuit integrity to UGDO. If the B+ and ground is confirmed OK and the light still fails to operate, replace the Universal Garage Door Opener with a new unit. Lighting and Horns
4. Verify that the hand-held transmitter has an effective battery. if a new battery is needed, replace and repeat the programming procedure.
5. Try re-orienting the hand-held transmitter and repeat the programing sequence. One effective way of re-orienting is to touch a different side of the hand-held transmitter to the Universal Garage Door Opener during programming, i.e. place the opposite end of the hand-held transmitter against the Universal Garage Door Opener.
6. If the hand-held transmitter does not properly activate the receiver after completing the above steps, then the Universal Garage Door Opener may be defective and should be replaced. if the Universal Garage Door Opener has been previously replaced for the same problem, contact HomeLink TM at 1-800-355-3515 for additional assistance.

Successful program indication (rapid flash) but Universal Garage Door Opener does not properly activate receiver

^ The effective transmission range of the Universal Garage Door Opener may differ from that of the original hand-held transmitter.
^ If the Universal Garage Door Opener appears to have programmed (rapid flash), but does not activate the system receiver, follow these steps to identify the cause of the problem:
1. Verify that the system (garage door opener, security system, etc.) operates properly with the hand-held transmitter.
2. Verify that the hand-held transmitter has an effective battery. If a new battery is needed, replace and repeat programming procedure.
3. Try re-orienting the hand-held transmitter and repeating the programming procedure. One effective way of re-orienting is to touch a different side of the hand-held transmitter to the Universal Garage Door Opener during programming, i.e., place the opposite end of the hand-held transmitter against the Universal Garage Door Opener.
4. If the problem persists contact HomeLink TM at I -800-355-3515 for additional assistance.
