Table B Traction Off Message Inoperative With No DTCs Set

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The TRACTION OFF message is controlled by the Class 2 serial data line from the EBTCM. When the EBTCM sees the Traction Control line go low through the momentary Traction Control switch it disables Traction Control and sends a message to the IPC to turn the TRACTION OFF message ON. Each time the ignition switch is cycled OFF to RUN the Traction Control is enabled.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
It is very important that a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors be performed. Failure to carefully and fully inspect wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction. An intermittent malfunction can be caused by poor connections, broken insulation, or a wire that is broken inside the insulation.
TABLE TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. Checks if the IPC has the ability to control the indicator. The message is sent from the EBTCM. This is done to see if the EBTCM can not send the message or the IPC can not receive the message and act on the message properly.
