Integrated Chassis Control
When servicing ICCS2 vehicles, test drives will be necessary to allow all tests to be run, and all system functions to be enabled and exercised. A test drive may also be required to duplicate specific DTCs. The diagnostic system check (including test drive) should be run when many vehicle repairs are complete, to verify the fix. Note: The diagnostic test drive will vary for ABS/TCS or ICCS problems. The following is a suggested ICCS2 diagnostic test drive.
1. Read the diagnostic aids, and the Condition For Setting The DTC.
2. Reconnect all previously disconnected components.
3. Turn the Ignition switch OFF, then START the engine.
4. Carefully drive vehicle in a straight line, above 24 km/h (15 mph), for one minute while monitoring the Steering Wheel Centered information on the scan tool. When the steering angle has been centered the scan tool will display Yes.
Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for at least 10 minutes and at no times should any unlawful or unsafe maneuvers be performed:
1. Highway driving.
2. Rough roads.
3. Perform turning maneuvers (curved freeway entrance ramp, parking lot maneuvers) and high steering angles and yaw rates at low speeds.
4. If drivers comments include any specific driving conditions, then they should be duplicated if at all possible.
5. With the engine still running use the scan tool and read DTCs. Refer to appropriate DTCs.
