REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Brake caliper and suspend.

2. Outboard shoe and lining. Use a screwdriver to disengage the buttons on the pad from the holes in the caliper housing.
3. Inboard shoe and lining.
4. Bolt boots.
5. Mounting bolt seals.
6. Bushings. Inspect Mounting bolts, key, spring, and sleeves for corrosion. Do not attempt to polish away corrosion. Replace if any is found. Bolt boots for nicks, cuts, or corrosion. Replace if any are found. Clean the caliper assembly and install a new brake hardware kit any time it is removed from the rotor.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Lubricate bushings and mounting bolt seals with GM PIN 18010909 Delco Silicone Lube or equivalent.
2. New bushings and bolt seals, if used.
3. New bolt boots.
4. Inboard lining. Snap retainer spring into piston. The pad retainer spring is already staked to inboard shoe. The pad must lay flat against piston.
5. Outboard lining with wear indicator at leading edge of pad during forward wheel rotation. The back of pad must lay flat against caliper.
6. Brake caliper.
CAUTION: Before moving the vehicle, pump the brake pedal several times to make sure it is firm. Do not move the vehicle until a firm pedal is obtained. Check the fluid level in the master cylinder after pumping the brakes.
