Parking Brake Cable: Description and Operation
Four separate cables are used in the
parking brake system. The front and intermediate cables are joined at the adjuster screw, with the intermediate cable running to the rear of the car. Left and right brake cables are connected to the intermediate cable using an equalizer. The
parking brake cables are coated with an abrasion resistant material in all areas where they pass through a cable guide or contact area. When handling parking brake cables, avoid scratching the coating or kinking the cable.
