Subject: Information on Resurfacing Park Brake Portion of Rear Brake Rotor

Models:
2013 and Prior GM Passenger Cars and Trucks
Equipped with Drum and Hat Park Brake Design

This bulletin is being issued to provide information on resurfacing the park brake portion of the rear brake rotor.

GM does not recommend any resurfacing of the park brake portion of the rear brake rotor. If slight sanding will not remove the surface imperfections (rust/corrosion/pitting), the rotor should be replaced.
