Low Oil Pressure Warning (Medium Chime)

Under normal operating conditions with the engine running cavity 57 of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector C2 is grounded through CKT 231 (TAN/BLK) by the Engine Oil Pressure Switch. If the oil pressure drops below approximately 20.5 kPa (3 psi) with the engine running, the Engine Oil Pressure Switch opens removing ground from the PCM. the PCM then sends a Class 2 low oil pressure message. The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)receives this message and turns "ON" the Oil Pressure telltale, displays the "STOP ENGINE-LOW OIL PRESSURE" DIC message and sends a Class 2 message to the Radio (IRC) to turn the chime "ON."
