Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Display On/Off (Digital IPC Only)

The "DISPLAY ON/OFF" feature Allows the driver to turn off a portion of the IPC displays. Pressing "DISPLAY ON/OFF" will turn "OFF" all IPC Vacuum Fluorescent displays except for speedometer, gear position and indicators. Pressing "DISPLAY ON/OFF" a second time will turn all displays back "ON."

Certain buttons on the IPC (i.e. "INFORMATION," "RESET," "TIMER," Electronic Climate Control or Fuel Data Center buttons) will cause only certain areas of the IPC to be turned "ON." These displays may or may not automatically turn "OFF" after a short period. Depressing the "TRIP SET" button will cause the IPC to illuminate all displays. Additionally, if a condition which would produce a driver warning message occurs or if fuel level falls below 4 gallons, all displays will turn "ON" and a message will be displayed.

Driver information may be recalled during display "OFF" operation by pressing the information button. This will cause only the Driver Information Center portion of the Blanked displays to turn "ON" and remain "ON."
