Handling Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Sensitive Parts

Description:

NOTICE: When handling an electronic part that has an ESD-sensitive sticker, refer to Diagrams / Diagram Information and Instructions / Electrostatic Discharge (ESD Sensitive Device).

When handling an electronic part that has an ESD-sensitive sticker follow these guidelines to reduce any possible buildup of electrostatic charge:

IMPORTANT
^ Do not open the package until it is time to install the part.
^ Before removing the part from its package, ground the package to a known good ground on the vehicle.
^ Always touch a known good ground before handling the part. This should be repeated while handling the part, sliding across the seat, sitting down or getting up, or doing any walking.
^ Not all parts that may be damaged by electrostatic discharge have an ESD-sensitive sticker.
