Front End Discriminating Sensor






CAUTION: Be careful when you handle a sensor. Do not strike or jolt the sensor. Before applying power to a sensor:
^ Remove any dirt, grease, etc. from the mounting surface.
^ Position the sensor horizontally on the mounting surface.
^ Point the arrow on the sensor toward the front of the vehicle.
^ Tighten all of the sensor fasteners and sensor bracket fasteners to the specified torque value.
Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.


Remove or Disconnect
Disable the Frontal SIR system. Refer to Disabling the Frontal SIR System.
1. Plastic radiator support cover.
2. Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and electrical connector.
3. Sensor fasteners.
4. Sensor from vehicle.

Install or Connect
1. Sensor in vehicle, ensure arrow is pointing toward the front of the vehicle.
2. Sensor fasteners.

Tighten
^ Fasteners to 11 N.m (98 lb. in.).
3. Plastic radiator support cover.
4. Electrical connector and CPA.
^ Enable the Frontal 8W system, refer to Enabling the Frontal SIR System.

Tighten
Sensor Fasteners to 11 N.m (98 lb. in.).
