Accident / Front Air Bag Deployment-Component Inspect/Replace

After a frontal collision involving frontal air bag deployment, replace the following components. If you detect any damage to the mounting points or mounting hardware, repair or replace the mounting points and mounting hardware as needed.
^ The inflatable restraint I/P module.
^ The inflatable restraint steering wheel inflator module.
^ The sensors, if in the area of accident damage.
^ I/P upper trim panel
^ The I/P assembly, if the passenger inflator mounting points are damaged.

Important
^ Refer to Sensor Replacement Guidelines for important information on sensor replacement in both deployment and nondeployment crashes.

Inspect and replace if necessary the following SIR components:
^ Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Inspect wiring and connector for any signs of scorching, melting, or damage due to excessive heat. Replace if damaged.
