Power Steering Pump: Description and Operation
A vane-type constant displacement pump provides hydraulic pressure for the system. The 4.6L engine uses a TC series pump. The major components of the
power steering pump are the drive shaft, pump housing, pump ring, pressure plate, thrust plate, control valve, and rotor and vane assembly. The reservoir is separate from the housing and internal parts. A pressure relief valve is used to limit pump pressure.
