Rear Suspension (Commercial Chassis)

^ Tools Required:
- J 35669 Strut Rod Nut Socket
- Or Equivalent

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle.
2. Tire and wheel.
3. Support lower control with suitable jack.
4. Disconnect electronic suspension air tube from shock.
5. Lower shock absorber nut and bolt.
6. Using J 35669 remove the upper mounting nut, retainer and insulator.
7. Compress the shock absorber by hand and remove through the upper control arm.
^ Inspect upper and lower shock absorber insulators for cuts, cracks, tears or other damage. Replace worn or damaged insulators.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Position top of shock absorber with insulator attached in suspension support.
2. Upper shock absorber insulator, retainer and nut.
3. Shock absorber lower nut and bolt.
^ Tighten:
- Upper shock absorber nut 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
- Lower shock absorber nut 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect electronic suspension air tube to shock.
5. Tire and wheel.
^ Tighten wheel nuts to 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower vehicle.
