Preliminary Checks

Perform the Powertrain On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check to determine if a malfunction has occurred within the electronic control system. The Powertrain OBD System Check must be the starting point for any transaxle electrical repairs because it directs the service technician to the next logical step. Understanding the chart and using it correctly will reduce diagnostic time and prevent the unnecessary replacement of functioning components.
